Wiferion Wireless No Plug Power for AGVs Takes Center Stage at ProMatDX

Julian Seume, Chief Marketing Officer for Wiferion, discussed effective wireless charging for AGVs (automated guided vehicles) is now a reality and will be the new innovation at ProMatDX next week. Read the recent article in The Manufacturing Report here.

Seume shared, “Trends in inductive battery charging technology ensures electric forklifts are most efficient on the floors of distribution centers, warehouses, and manufacturing operations. With dozens of AGV vendors participating at ProMatDX one must consider in process charging eliminates the plug-in charging making AGVs truly autonomous.”

In process charging eliminates the waste of AGV downtime – the fleet is always working AND charging. In process charging is safe ensuring the OSHA, ergonomics, and danger to workers significantly reduced.  In process charging is cost-efficient because full vehicle deployment means a reduced fleet count ensuring a rapid ROI.

For OEMs of AGVs and industrial trucks implementing inductive charging technology  solves the wear and tear issues caused by conventional charging methods as well as making vehicles fully autonomous. For end-users of AGVs and industrial trucks,  inductive charging in combination with lithium batteries can improve fleet availability by more than 30%.

Wiferion educational session at ProMatDX will take place on Tuesday, April 13 at 9:00-9:30 am CDT.

The Manufacturing Report presents the latest news, events, company information and resources in the manufacturing industry.

About Wiferion

From inductive charging technology to energy management solutions, Wiferion offers a spectrum of products achieving efficient energy supply for industrial trucks, automated guided vehicles (AGVs), automated mobile robots (AMRs), and driverless transport systems. The technology also includes retrofit projects for existing fleets.

The flexible and scalable integration of Wiferion products means that users can sustainably increase utilization and fleet efficiency by up to 30%. Using lean manufacturing principles, Wiferion redefines the value stream mapping (VSM) by eliminating the unnecessary machine downtime and labor-intensive costs of plug-in charging.

From manufacturing to intralogistics, the Wiferion inductive battery charging system pioneered the etaLINK series which received prestigious awards such as the IFOY Award and “BEST PRODUCT” from LogiMAT.

Wiferion was founded in 2016 by four former employees of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems and one of the technology drivers in wireless charging. Wiferion is the foundation for a resource-saving and sustainable energy supply. Contact at: [email protected].
