Locos X Grill, the restaurant famous for its authentic Chinese Venezuelan preparations, has captivated many clients. The brainchild of Waxin Fong and co-founder and wife Gabriela Rivero, this was a dream project for the couple that has now become a reality.
“We are delighted that Locos X Grill has become the preferred eating destination for our clients as they love to come here and have fun and our mouthwatering food every weekend,” says founder Waxin Fong. “We are focused on creating and serving authentic dishes that come as close as possible to the real ones in terms of taste and flavor. Waxin believes that it takes years of practice and experience for anyone to become a good cook but there are some other factors needed to achieve success.
Waxin has been delighting his customers by offering cuts of unique flavor that make them come for more every weekend. There is an enormous demand also for their Venezuelan Chinese rice.
His interest in grilled food was ignited by an uncle who was an expert at these kinds of preparations. What impressed Waxin was the passion and love with which he made the grills and served them to each guest. The best that Waxin could make was roasted wings with a homemade sauce made with Chinese spices.
Waxin stepped into the world of grill food as national distributors of a barbeque grill brand. He was also testing various types of grills using different types of firewood. However, he was able to create the authentic meat stick taste in a gas grill. He started testing his preparations on family and friends during endless tasting sessions.
He combined his taste expertise and the gastronomic knowledge of his parents and grandparents in China to create perfect dishes. Most of those experimental dishes are now part of the Locos X Grill menu. The passion with which Waxin pursued his dream is one of the key reasons for the amazing success that his restaurant enjoys today.
Waxin believes that business should not be pursued in a business-like manner, but as a passion. He wants to see delight his customers and provide them an unforgettable experience when they enjoy their cuts and grilled food.
“I gradually adapted to my taste, one of them and the one that cost me the most was the BBQ pork to find the exact point that I tried since I was a child, the authentic pork belly made by my cousins and uncles with that unbeatable crunch, and of course the authentic rear tip with that little fat that we all love … that is what Locos X Grill is all about,” adds the creative cook Waxin.
